OT: Just Jane walking, Ms. Ca., and the right to choose.

I had planned on going for a walk, but a storm is brewing; instead, I’m going through my closets and re-arranging my shoes and purses.  Okay, here is something many of you may not know about me, I am a label *****  Yep, I only buy expensive label bags and shoes.  When I went up north for the last conference, I found an outlet mall and bought five coach bags.  I know.  I love them all.  So, what that means is I have a closet full of expensive shoes and purses, which requires me keeping them organized, and in their original boxes or, in the case of my purses, sacks.  So, every once in a while, I need to go through and re-organize them.   Since wls, I am able to wear heels again and have just gone nuts over really cute shoes with nice heels.

Also, I noticed the other day that my pants are starting to bag again, so I’m going to buy cheap sweats for the summer, work my ass off to drop about ten more pounds, and then in the fall, hopefully the clothes that I buy will be the ones that I can wear for longer than a few months.  Not that I’m complaining about the steady weight loss, I’m not, but I just get a pair of jeans broke in and the ass or thighs or waist starts to sag.

I am starting a spinning class next week. I’ve always wanted to try it out, but have thought my knees were in too bad of a shape.  In January, I went in and my arthritis doc put me on a weight lifting program for my knees and it has given me a lot of strength that I didn’t have before, so I thought I’d try the spinning.  If it is too much, I’ll just go back to walking the treadmill, the streets, and riding my bike.

Now, I don’t feel as though I’ve done a good job unless I have adequately aroused the hair on the Christian front, so here’s my news flash for the day.  A group of my atheist friends and I met on the national day of prayer and were talking about the blind faith versus empirical knowledge and how so many people feel the need to think that after death they are going to that special place where there are streets of gold and gates of pearls and if that isn’t a human concept, I don’t know what is.  If you read the bible, you know that riches and wealth are contrary to Jesus’ preachings; yet, the human constructs of afterlife are like those constructs of what we expect happiness to be, walking on gold, ect.  Anyway, we were sipping our glasses of wine and discussing how Christianity is the binary opposite of what it professes and we began with Ms. California.  Now who the **** cares if she shows her boobs, I don’t; however, she professes to be a Christian who hates that family values are being compromised by same sex marriage.  Okay, same sex marriage will does not hurt the family.  Straight men and women are not being snatched out of their marriage by gays and lesbians are they, but her fake boobed topless pictures, well, let me just say, if you think about adultry, you committed it.  Straight for Jesus' mouth.  Also, we wondered why the Christian right thinks that it is okay to determine other people’s reproductive rights when the sexual immorality that reaks from the pulpit should be their main concern.  If you want to know about sexual immorality of the clergy, there’s an entire website that weekly posts the dastardly deeds of Christian folks.  Joe.My.God go look and read; but fair warning, he’s gay.

So, I look at the postings for daily bible readings and notice that people have died off of reading the great book and that, in itself, is a testament to the frailty and frigidity of the faith of our Christian wls friends.  I said it here first.

Now, your first three paragraphs were interesting.  The last part I took offense to, but then I'm entitled to, everyone's got an opinion.

I wish I could get into some of the expensive label things.  I was raised fairly poor, and we shopped at Montgomery Wards and Sears and only for sale items.  I'm 57 now and always look for a bargain.  My daughter-in-law just bought a Coach bag at an outlet store and for what she paid I could have gotten at least four outfits.  I know they're guaranteed for life and all, but geez.  I'm hoping that once I have my surgery I'll be able to get back into heels.  There's nothing prettier than a womans legs in high heels.  Just having feet that don't hurt will be a blessing.

Jan,

I'm glad you enjoyed part of my post.  Here's the thing, I don't believe in god and when I read post that throw religion in my face, I take offense, but I don't say anything because I get tired of the crap that comes my way when I express my distaste for our wls board taking on the flavor of a sunday go to church meeting.  Here is the problem, I read the post, don't mention that I take offense and it's all good; yet, for those of you who enjoy your own personal relationship with your supreme being, you feel it is okay to register your distaste to me about my lack of belief.  THAT'S WHAT ME AND ALL THE OTHER NON-BELIEVERS ARE TALKING ABOUT. If you guys can post prayer requests, bible versus, and other types of religious things, then we should be able to voice our own lack of belief without being judged or condemmed or even told that you don't like it. If you don't like it, don't ******g read it.

But you did, read it.  And by reading it, you make the choice to not read any more of my posts but do so with the same respect that I show you guys on your offensive religious post.  Just don't comment about my non belief.

You are absolutely right. We all have a right to our believes, but, we DO NOT CUSS
on this board &
DO & WILL take offense to that. I would suggest being a little more compliant with
your writings  before sneding them to this board.

We don't cuss on this board, since when. I've always cussed in my post, and see nothing wrong with using all the words in my vast vocabulary to express myself and you or no one else has the right to tell me any differently.  So, cuss I will.  I've seen many cuss words out of the mouths of the members here and I'm not sure who the hell you are, but you don't dictate to me how I talk.

By the way, the topic is OT and to Just Jane.  So, mind your own buisness.
